On this page are pictures of two old radios I have restored. The RCA AR88LF was manufactured for us by the Americans during WW2 as a top quality communications receiver used to intercept German messages and receive signals from our agents. The receiver covers the usual short wave bands but this is the more unusual LF version which tunes from 73 Khz to 30.5 Mhz. Also shown is the Murphy B40. This was produced for the Royal Navy as a robust communications receiver for use aboard ship. Both Receivers were in a very poor condition - rusty and corroded. The B40 even had a mouse nest in it!
