The Paraset was a small spy radio transmitter / receiver used by British agents during World War 2. The design of the Paraset is very simple so during the early months of 2007 I decided to build a working replica. The Paraset uses three American metal octal valves. A 6V6 beam tetrode is the crystal controlled transmitter and two 6SK7 pentodes are used for the receiver. The specification is shown below.
Receiver frequency range       3 - 7.6 Mhz.
Receiver type                           6SK7 regenerative detector with 6SK7 audio amplifier.
Transmitter frequency range   3.3 - 4.5 Mhz and 4.5 - 7.6 Mhz.
Transmitter output power        4.5 watts Morse code with built in micro key.
Receiver sensitivity                 1uv readable at 3.5 Mhz !
Weight                                      About 3.25 Pounds.
Power supply                           Combination power pack for house AC or 6 volt battery.
Dimensions                              210mm x 140mm
Range                                       About 500 Miles
